Built oncrate digs.
Sunset Sounds started as a milk crate of records on the Kalk Bay pavement in 1974. Fifty years on, it's the same idea — just a lot more crates.
We're diggers first. Every record on the wall was pulled because someone here loves it, and every one is playable before you take it home.

Loved bythe locals.
The only shop in the Cape where you can lose a whole Saturday and not spend a cent — then leave with five records.
Sisanda M. — Observatory
They tracked down an original Batsumi pressing I'd hunted for a decade. Proper diggers.
Pieter V. — Collector
Best listening bar in town. The coffee's good and the selection is better.
